A humble start, a big dream
A humble start, a big dream
My first creations were inspired by the nostalgic beauty of crocheted doilies. A table runner made from these doilies was my very first sale—a heartfelt gift for a woman in Israel buying it for her mother’s birthday. That sale was a moment of pure joy and validation. Soon, my handcrafted wedding accessories and table textiles began catching the eye of not just brides but also event agencies who wanted to rent them for special occasions. It was the start of my journey into the world of handmade, made-to-order textiles.
From a dream to the Studio
When me and my family moved back to Latvia, I realized that if others could rent my creations, perhaps I could bring the same magic to events myself. I started offering decorating services for celebrations, weddings, and more. There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of early mornings with a cup of coffee and flowers, designing table settings or floral compositions, or lighting candles just before an event begins. These moments remind me why I love what I do—especially when clients tell me about the joy and even tears of happiness they feel walking into their beautifully decorated space.

As my family settled into our home, I began crafting personalized Christmas stockings and tree skirts to make our holidays more special. This passion led to the opening of my Etsy shop, Andra Oto Textiles, in 2014. Dedicated to Christmas and cozy home decor, it quickly became a hub for handmade textiles. What started in a small spare room has now grown into a vibrant studio where I work alongside four wonderful women. Together, we create everything from monogrammed stockings to versatile table textiles, always with a love for plaid and a focus on made-to-order creations that make every home feel unique.
